Is there a financial support provided for World Heritage Sites?

Support for preservation can be provided for sites listed on World Heritage List by directing the funds from UNESCO World Heritage Funds (WHF). Bursa is already on the list, and has the right to benefit from UNESCO World Heritage Funds.

Yet World Heritage Funds are generally reserved for and used by developing countries or countries where heritage sites are endangered and under threat of bad conditions like war or natural disasters, such as African countries.

For example, all assets listed on World Heritage List in Afghanistan, Syria, Congo, and Palestine are relocated to List of World Heritage in Danger. These countries where heritage sites are seriously damaged can use the funds from World Heritage Funds when they can focus on their cultural heritage again.

For countries like us, there are international collaborations and options to find finances through various projects developed for historical and cultural heritage can be arranged, thanks to internationally prestigious World Heritage title.
