Bursa is Awarded the Grand Prize

The Mayor of Bursa Metropolitan Area, Mr. Recep Altepe was awarded the “Prof. Dr. Metin Sözen Protection Grand Prize”, the highest prize awarded by the Association of Historic Cities, with the Merinos Textile Industry Museum in the Contest for Encouraging Projects and Practices for Preserving Cultural Heritage (2011)” organized by the Association of Historic Cities (TKB).

The Mayor of Bursa Metropolitan Area, Mr. Recep Altepe was among the speakers.

The Mayor of Bursa Metropolitan Area, Mr. Recep Altepe talked about the services focusing on the historical heritage in Bursa, at ‘YAPEX-Restoration Renovation and Cultural Heritage Protection Fair’ organized by ÇEKÜL Foundation, and said that historical and cultural assets render Bursa, a rich and diversified social habitat. The forum titled “Holders of Metin Sözen Protection Grand Prize and Sustainability Prize in the Encouraging Contest 2011 organized by the Association of Historic Cities Talk”, was organized at the EXPO Center in Antalya during the fair. The Mayor of Bursa Metropolitan Area Mr. Recep Altepe, the Mayor of Muğla Mr. Osman Gürün, the Mayor of Aksaray Mr. Nevzat Palta, the Mayor of Birgi Cumhur Şener, the Mayor of Kula Selim Aşkın and the Mayor of Burdur Mr. Sebahattin Akkaya attended the session moderated by Mithat Kırayaoğlu, Member of the Advisory Board of ÇEKÜL Foundation, as speakers.

Bursa Site Management Unit attended ‘YAPEX-Restoration Renovation and Cultural Heritage Protection Fair’.

A team from Bursa Site Management Unit also attended the fair and Bursa Site Director Prof. Dr. Neslihan DOSTOĞLU attended the session titled “Towards being a World Heritage City; Examples of Historic Cities from Turkey” as a speaker.
