After graduating from Ankara Gazi High School, Yusuf Oğuzoğlu graduated from History Department of Faculty of Language, History and Geography, Ankara University (1970). He got his Masters and PhD at the same institution (1975-1981). Dr. YusufOğuzoğlu was appointed as Assistant at Modern History Departmentof Faculty of Language, History and Geography, Ankara Universityin 1981. He became an assistant professor in 1984. He published scientific papers on Ottoman rural life and city institutions, based on Ottoman Archive Documents. He gave lectures on Turkish Republic History and supervisedpost-graduate theses at Turkish Revolutionary History Institute. Moreover, he has contributed to academic studies at Institutes of Social Sciences of Ankara, Hacettepe, and Gazi Universities.
Asst. Assoc. Dr. Yusuf Oğuzoğlu was assigned as by Higher Education Councils a member of the commission that prepared Ottoman Land Registration Books in General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre Archives for publication between 1984-1988.In this context, he took part in several scientific activities related to national issues held in various cities in Turkey held by Prime Ministry Atatürk Culture, Language and History High Agency and Culture and Arts PublishingBoard of the Parliament.
Asst. Assoc. Dr. Joseph Oğuzoğlu was transferred to Uludağ University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of History,established in 1990. He received Associate Professortitleon 5 October 1995. Yusuf Oğuzoğlu became a Professor in 2000, and published scientific papers mainly focusing on city history, as a member of Bursa Research Foundation and History Foundation. In the same period, he served as Head of Department of History at Uludağ University Faculty of Arts and Sciences (1990-2011), and Dean of Mudanya Faculty of Fine Arts (2009-2011).
Prof. Dr. YusufOğuzoğlu currently serves as a lecturer at History Department of Düzce University, and he is also Head of Ataturk’s Principles and History of Turkish Revolution Department at Düzce University.
