THE MISSION OF BURSA SITE DIRECTORATE
-To draw up a Management Plan for Bursa (Hangar Site and Sultan Complexes) and Cumalıkızık with the participation of all stakeholders with a view to preserving the Historical Sites of Bursa (Hangar Site, Sultan Complexes, Cumalıkızık Village) in accordance with international norms and to ensure management of Historical Sites through annual action plans.
– Submitting the Application File for Registering Historical Sites of Bursa as a Nominee for UNESCO World Heritage List in 2014, to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in September 2012 with a view to ensuring that Historical Sites of Bursa are granted World heritage status and promoting recognition of such sites in the international platform.
– Aiming at sustainable conservation of Historical Sites of Bursa in compliance with the terms and conditions stipulated in the World Heritage Convention conserving.
-Promoting the historical and cultural background of Bursa on a global scale and increasing the tourism potential of the city.
-Preserving the authentic texture at Historical Sites of Bursa, which has survived throughout the history and rendering the periphery of such sites habitable.
-Raising awareness regarding cultural assets both within the city and outside, with particular emphasis to those living and working at Historical Sites of Bursa.
-Ensuring participation of local and international experts to thematic workshops to provide recommendations for conservation of Historical Sites of Bursa in accordance with international standards and to share their experiences.
